Empowering communities through rights, equity, and grassroots action.
Who We Are
People-Led Solutions for a Just Future
Pamoja Community Based Organization (PACBO) is a grassroots nonprofit empowering communities in Kenya’s Coastal region. We advance human rights, environmental sustainability, gender equality, economic empowerment, and access to health and education through inclusive, people-led approaches.
Based in Kwale County, PACBO serves communities across all six counties of Kenya’s Coast: Kwale, Mombasa, Kilifi, Tana River, Taita Taveta, and Lamu.
History
Founded in 2015 in Kwale County, Pamoja Community Based Organization (PACBO) began as a grassroots initiative driven by a shared commitment to justice, dignity, and local empowerment. What started as a small group of passionate volunteers has grown into a respected organization working across all six counties of Kenya’s Coast.
In the beginning, we tackled urgent challenges affecting local communities. As we grew, our work expanded to include long-term solutions through advocacy, empowerment, and sustainable development.
Today, PACBO continues to build on this foundation, remaining deeply rooted in the communities we serve and guided by a vision of inclusive, sustainable change.
